Duke is “staying”.

Duke’s current weight - 63 lbs. He has gained almost 50 lbs since we brought him home 3 months ago.

-Duke Update- Duke is now 27 inches tall at the shoulders and still growing like a weed. He’s grown 6 inches since the first of August. Pictures to come.

Duke weighed in at the vet yesterday @ 56 lbs. He is getting smarter everyday. We are taking him to obedience training and he is much further along than the other puppies his age. He already knows how to do the tricks in the trainers curriculum. We have learned a couple of techniques to teach him to stop mouthing, barking, and walk with us on a leash. The main benefit that we can see is the socialization with other people and puppies.

We took the tape off of his ears for a couple of days and they are starting to stand up on their own. Hopefully he will only need 1 more taping to get them to stand straight.

Juhree and I are staying busy as usual. Juhree is working hard with school and taking care of Duke and I. I am playing on two softball teams and start fantasy football this week.

Labor Day Weekend Juhree, Duke and I went down to the Brownwood Lake this weekend. We had a great time swimming in the lake and riding the jet ski. Duke really enjoyed running around with the other dogs and sniffing around some new territory. Since we were at the lake, I wanted to expose Duke to the water and see how he liked it. We discovered that he hates the water. I originally tried to walk him down to the water to check it out but he would not go. So these pictures illustrate what happened next.
