Click here for pictures from the air show.
Commemorative Air Force Airshow Last weekend Juhree and I went to Odessa for her sister’s baby shower. While Juhree and my mom went to the shower, my step dad Mike and I went to the air show. The focus of the air show was the planes and battles of WWII. They acted out the bombing of Pearl Harbor, battles over the pacific and the dropping of “Little Boy” on Hiroshima. There were also some unbelievable stunt planes and a cool contrasting display of the fighter planes of WWII and the jet fighters of today. An F-18 was demoed along with the B1B Lancer. There was also the land speed record holder “Shockwave”. “Shockwave” is a truck with 3 jet engines strapped to the back of it. It reaches speeds of 376 mph. As someone who is fascinated with history, it was really cool to see these fighters up close and then reenacting the famous battles. Aside from the sun burn, it was a great time.
Below is a picture that Mike took of a P-51 with the B1B Lancer doing a fly by in the distance.
